Getting over Christmas and New Year!

Well, that festive period went quickly!!

I tried to stay on plan wherever I could, however, temptation was too much on some things! I did at one point find myself face down in the chocolate Roses tin…….there are some things that I just can’t resist! Willpower?!?! GONE!

Christmas dinner was mainly to plan, after all it’s just a roast dinner! The alcohol was flowing, but I stuck to my Syns for that, I had a tipple of Vodka, 4 syns a shot roughly. I did go over on the Prosecco, but I knew that I would be able to flexi syn some things.

Last Christmas I made myself a promise, that I would be at my target weight this year and would not have to deprive myself of anything! PROMISE KEPT! My life has changed so much this past year and that includes my eating habits. I didn’t want to eat the way I used to. Sounds like a cliche, but it’s the truth!

So……to post Christmas weigh in! I was dreading it, as most of us do after Christmas, but it wasn’t the one to be worried about! A gain of 2lbs, well that was fine! Kept me in my target range, so all was good. I picked up my new book from group…….if you got one, do read it, it’s great!

I went home feeling great and knowing that I could now draw that line…..WRONG…….New Year was yet to come!

New Year’s Eve was fine, I was working all day, so that kept me on track. It was the next day that it went downhill. We always spend New Year day together as a family, it’s really important to me. We have New year dinner at our eldest daughter’s house, I told her not to worry about anything, I would deal with it myself. So, I found myself having roast potatoes (roasted in butter), yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets, stuffing, gravy and all the trimmings! I didn’t dare calculate those Syns! Afterwards, we had the Christmas pudding that was saved from Christmas, we never get time to eat that at Christmas. So, there it was, with double cream! I then had cheesecake and a small slice of lemon tart, I felt the need to taste everything on offer! I went home and finished the chocolate Roses………………the result of this was a weigh in day TWO days later, 4.5lbs GAIN!

Ok, this kicked me into touch. It’s the twelfth day of Christmas tomorrow, so all the food has now been thrown out or donated. I don’t have any willpower left!

Kicked off the new start yesterday, by buying an aerobic step! I can do this in the comfort of my own home, it may be another 5 minute wonder, but who knows! I may enjoy this, anything to up that Body Magic! Every bit of movement you can make helps. It doesn’t matter if you are pushing the hoover round or walking the dog…….it all counts and helps towards your goal!

2.5lbs to get back into target……I’VE GOT THIS!!
