Easter…….Time to get over it!

Last Easter I really missed having my easter eggs because I deprived myself of them! This year, as I was at target, I told my hubby that I wasn’t doing that this year. The great thing about Slimming World is that there is no need to deprive yourself at all, it’s not like other diets!

So, with this in mind, I cracked my easter eggs and weighed them. I put them in treat bags that worked out at 13 Syns a bag. I popped those in my fridge and told myself, one bag a day! Great theory….right?? WRONG!! My willpower held off for the first day…..that was it! I had a few bags the next day….I have flexi Syns….right?? I weighed in on Wednesday and had only put 1lb on! What a result I told myself…….so what did I do next?? …….I ATE ALL THE BAGS IN THE FRIDGE! aaaggghhhhhh….NO NO NO NO!

Sometimes, when the scales show a good result, it can be a bad thing as you think you are invincible! This can have a devastating effect.

I woke up on Thursday morning feeling very determined. I have a holiday in the not too distant future and I want to be at the lower end of my target for that, definitely not at the top. I decided to do a few days of SP. This means that anything that I eat, has to be speed foods or protein…..no carbs. This is a great way to speed up your losses, I wouldn’t recommend that you do this long term unless you factor in a few other healthy extras. On SP days, you can have 2 Hex B’s, this ensures you are getting the right amount of fibre. If you do SP for longer than a week, I would recommend also having a few days with extra Hex A, this would continue to give you the calcium you need to make sure your diet remains balanced (always talk to your consultant before you make any changes to your plan though, make sure it is correct for you).

I also decided to lower my Syns this week, after all, I’ve probably eaten my body weight in Syns this week ?¬†Thursday….2.5 Syns, Friday 3 Syns, Saturday was a day out visiting our daughter, went out for a meal…4 Syns.

I’m feeling much more positive today than I was on Wednesday evening……I will have to wait until this Wednesday to see those results though. Any loss would be a start, but ideally I would like to get back to target weight (I am currently in target range, 2lbs over it, which still keeps me as a target member).
